Denise DelGrosso Gilliland – Pink Power Founder
Pink Power was founded in 2017 by Denise Gilliland, a breast cancer survivor, who comes from a long line of warriors in her family. Denise wanted to use her breast cancer story to raise awareness about the disease while raising money for local breast cancer patients in need. Denise uses Pink Power as a platform to educate people on the importance of yearly screenings, genetic testing for those who have a history of cancer in their family, and for male breast cancer as her father was diagnosed twice with the disease. She also recognizes the importance of celebrating another year of life, so she honors breast cancer survivors who attend the annual October event with a meaningful survivor toast.
Pink Power’s inaugural event in October of 2017 raised $40,000, reached a magnificent milestone of $100,000 raised in 2019, and achieved an astounding cumulative total of half a million dollars in the first five years. As of December 2023, Pink Power has raised $877,000 and is projected to reach $1,000,000 in 2024!
Denise is grateful for her dedicated committee and extremely generous sponsors and donors who make the mission of Pink Power possible year after year. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of others.
